Blessed are you, O Lord, the God of Israel.  Yours, O Lord, is the greatness and power and the glory and the victory and the majesty, for all that is in the heavens and on the earth is yours.  Yours is the kingdom, O Lord, and you are exalted as head above all.  Both riches and honor come from you, and you rule over all.

In your hand are power and might, and in your hand it is to make great and to give strength to all.   And now we thank you, our God, and praise your glorious name.

I believe that Jesus Christ, true God, begotten of the Father from eternity, and also true man, born of the Virgin Mary, is my Lord, who has redeemed me, a lost and condemned creature, purchased and won me from all sins, from death, and from the power of the devil; not with gold or silver, but with his holy, precious blood, and with his innocent suffering and death, that I may be his own and live under him in his kingdom, and serve him in everlasting righteousness, truth and blessedness, even as he is risen from the dead, and lives and reigns through all eternity. This is most certainly true.

    Prayer of Confession:    

Most merciful God, we confess to you that we are by nature sinful and unclean, and that we have disobeyed you in thought, word and deed; and not only in outward transgressions, but also in secret thoughts and desires that we are ashamed to acknowledge, but which are known to you. For this reason we seek refuge in your infinite mercy and pray that you would be gracious to us, and turn from us those punishments which we by our sins have deserved. Forgive us for all of our sins and renew within us the image of Jesus Christ, so that we may delight in your will and walk in your ways, to the glory of your holy name.
