    Welcome and Announcements

    Silent Prayer and Preparation

*  Call to Worship:                                                                                                     Psalm 50

The Mighty One, God, the Lord, speaks and summons the earth from the rising of the sun to the place where it sets.  From Zion, perfect in beauty, God shines forth.  He summons the heavens above, and the earth, that he may judge his people.

Sacrifice thank offerings to God, fulfill your vows to the Most High, and call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you will honor me.

*  Hymn:  Bulletin p. 4, stanzas 1-3      “God, All Nature Sings Thy Glory”         Ode to Joy

*  God’s Greeting:

Grace and peace be to you in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

    Amen.

The Lord be with you.

    And also with you.

Our help is in the name of the Lord,

    Who made heaven and earth.

Blessed be God,

    And blessed is his kingdom, now and forever.  Amen.

*  Prayer of the Day:

Lord God, mercifully receive the prayers of your people who call on your name, in order that we may know and understand that which you would have us do, and may we have the grace and strength to faithfully accomplish them, through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

*  Response:  Insert, stanza 4     “God, All Nature Sings Thy Glory”                  Ode to Joy

God of glory, power, mercy, all creation praises thee;

we, thy creatures, would adore thee now and through eternity.

Saved to magnify thy goodness, grant us strength to do thy will;

with our acts as with our voices thy commandments to fulfill.

Confession and Prayer

   Prayer of Confession:                                                                          Psalm 25, adapted

To you, O Lord, we lift up our soul; in you we trust, O Lord our God.  No one whose hope is in you will ever be put to shame.  Show us your ways, teach us your paths, guide us in your truth and teach us, for you are God our Savior, and our hope is in you all day long.  Remember your great mercy and love, for they are from of old.  Remember not the sins of our youth and our rebellious ways; according to your love remember us, for you are good, O Lord.  For the sake of your name forgive our iniquity, for it is great.  Look upon our affliction and our distress and take away all our sins.  Guard our lives and rescue us; let us not be put to shame for we take refuge in you.  May integrity and uprightness protect us, because our hope is in you.  Redeem your people, O God, from all their troubles!

Like a river glorious is God’s perfect peace,

over all victorious in its bright increase:

perfect, yet still flowing fuller every day;

perfect, yet still growing deeper all the way.

Trusting in the Father, hearts are fully blest,

finding, as he promised, perfect peace and rest.
