*  Call to Worship:                                                                                                   Psalm 100

Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth.  Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs.  Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise.

Give thanks to him and praise his name.  For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.

*  Hymn:   Insert                “God, We Sing Your Glorious Praises”                       Nettleton

*  God’s Greeting:

Grace and peace be to you in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

    Amen.

The Lord be with you.

    And also with you.

Our help is in the name of the Lord,

    Who made heaven and earth.

Blessed be God,

    And blessed is his kingdom, now and forever.  Amen.

*  Prayer of the Day:

Give us grace, O Lord, to trust in you with all of our hearts; for as you always resist the proud who confide in their own strength, so you never forsake those who make their boast in your mercy, through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

So fill it up.  Fill it up and let it overflow.

So fill it up.  Fill it up and let it overflow.

So fill it up.  Fill it up and let it overflow,

Let it overflow with love.

Amazing grace—how sweet the sound—

that saved a wretch like me!

I once was lost but now am found,

was blind but now I see.

So fill it up.  Fill it up and let it overflow.

So fill it up.  Fill it up and let it overflow.

So fill it up.  Fill it up and let it overflow,

Let it overflow with love.

Confession and Prayer

    Prayer of Confession:

We confess to you, Almighty God, that we have grievously sinned in thought, word, and deed.  We ask that you forgive our sins through Christ Jesus our Lord.  Let your forgiveness make us willing to forgive all wrong which we have suffered, and to ask forgiveness for every wrong which we have done.  Give to us a contrite heart and a spirit of humility. And we pray, merciful Father, that you would restore our souls in Christ Jesus, that we may be merciful and kind, even as you have been merciful unto us. Grant that we may know Christ, and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of his sufferings, so that we may live in a manner worthy of his kingdom and gain eternal life through the same Jesus Christ our Lord.

Silent Prayer and Confession

Minister: Amen.

    Assurance of Pardon:                                                                                              I John 1

“We Love the Lord”                                                                 Pulkingham

We love the Lord, our neighbors and ourselves.

We open our eyes, we see him ev’rywhere.

We love the Lord, who died on the cross.

We love the Lord to love each other too.

We open our eyes, we see Jesus Christ;

He looks down at us, we look up at him.

We trust in him eternally.

“The Butterfly Song”                                                                       Howard

If I were a butterfly, I’d thank you, Lord, for giving me wings.

And if I were a robin in a tree, I’d thank you, Lord, that I could sing.

And if I were a fish in the sea, I’d wiggle my tail and I’d giggle with glee,

But I just thank you, Father, for making me “me.”

Refrain: For you gave me a heart and you gave me a smile.

                You gave me Jesus and you made me your child.

                And I just thank you, Father, for making me “me.”

If I were an elephant, I’d thank you, Lord, by raising my trunk.

And if I were a kangaroo, You know I’d hop right up to you.

And if I were an octopus, I’d thank you, Lord, for my fine looks,

But I just thank you, Father, for making me “me.”   Refrain

If I were a wiggly worm, I’d thank you, Lord, that I could squirm.

And if I were a crocodile, I’d thank you, Lord, for my big smile.

And if I were a fuzzy wuzzy bear, I’d thank you, Lord, for my fuzzy wuzzy hair,

But I just thank you, Father for making me “me.”   Refrain

                            “Come, Let Us Sing”                                                                          Sleeth

Come, let us sing, joyfully sing anthems of praise

Unto the Lord with one accord now and always!

Come, let us sing, joyfully sing melody bright

Unto the Lord with one accord heav’n to delight!

Call for the trumpet, pipe and string!

Praises to God now let us bring!

Come, let us sing, joyfully sing psalms to adore

Unto the Lord with one accord forevermore!

Sing to God who made the heavens!

Sing to God who made the earth!

Formed the fields and framed the fountains;

Gave to creatures all their birth!

Hallelujah!  Hallelujah!  Let the chorus fill the air!

Lift your voice in glad rejoicing!

Let it echo everywhere!

“Lord, You Are Near Me”                                                            Pattersen

Lord, you are near me; I will not fear.

You walk beside me, it’s your voice I hear.

Darkness may cover me, but soon your light appears,

And I know, dear Lord, you are near me.

Lord, you are near me; leading each day.

Teach me to follow, show me the way.

Lord, help me trust in you, keep me close I pray.

Help me know, dear Lord, you are near me.

When I sleep, when I wake, night and day you are near me.

When I cry, when I pray, Lord, I know you will hear me.

Lord, be near me; I will not fear.

You walk beside me, it’s your voice I hear.

Though darkness may cover me, soon your light appears,

And I know, dear Lord, you are near me.

Yes I know, dear Lord, you are near me.

                            “How Can I Keep From Singing?”                                         arr. Littleton

My life flows on in endless song, above earth’s lamentation.

I hear the real though far off song that hails a new creation.

No storm can shake my inmost calm, while to that Rock I’m clinging;

It sounds an echo in my soul, how can I keep from singing?

What though the tempest round me roars, I know the truth, It liveth.

What though the darkness round me close, songs in the night It giveth.

No storm can shake my inmost calm, while to that Rock I’m clinging

Since Love is lord of heav’n and earth, how can I keep from singing?

My life flows on in endless song above earth’s lamentation.

I hear the real though far off song that hails a new creation.

No storm can shake my inmost calm, while to that Rock I’m clinging.

It sounds an echo in my soul, how can I keep from singing?

How can I keep from singing?

“Now Paul, He Was a Servant”                                                   Brazzeal

Now Paul, he was a servant, a servant of the Lord,

Was shipwrecked three days, even threatened with the sword,

Spent nights in a prison for preaching of the Lord;

But through it all he learned:

When I am weak, my God is strong,

Even when times get tough,

Protecting, guiding all along.

His grace is more, more than enough.

Now Paul, he suffered so much so others could believe,

Like thirty-nine lashes five times he did receive.

A day and a night he spent floating in the sea;

But through it all he learned:

When I am weak, my God is strong,

Even when times get tough,

Protecting, guiding all along.

His grace is more, more than enough.

Now Paul, he traveled often; at times he had no food.

In one certain city was beaten, stoned and booed.

Though sleepless and tired, it did not change his mood;

But through it all he learned:

When I am weak, my God is strong,

Even when times get tough,

Protecting, guiding all along.

His grace is more, more than enough.

Now we, like Paul, are servants, are servants of the Lord.

We fight our own battles, tho’ not with whips and swords,

Enduring our trials by trusting in the Lord;

And through it all we learn:

When we are weak, our God is strong,

Even when times get tough,

Protecting, guiding all along

His grace is more, more than enough.

More than enough, more than enough.
