    Welcome and Announcements

    Silent Prayer and Preparation

*  Call to Worship:                                                                                                      Isaiah 45

This is what the Lord says: “I am the Lord, and there is no other.  I, the Lord, speak the truth; I declare what is right.  Turn to me and be saved, all you ends of the earth; for I am God, and there is no other.

“Before me every knee will bow; by me every tongue will swear.  They shall say of me, ‘In the Lord alone are righteousness and strength.’”  In the Lord all the descendants of Israel will be found righteous and will exult.

*  Hymn:  PH 249                 “Holy, Holy, Holy!  Lord God Almighty”                           Nicaea

*  God’s Greeting:

Grace and peace be to you in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

    Amen.

The Lord be with you.

    And also with you.

Our help is in the name of the Lord,

    Who made heaven and earth.

Blessed be God,

    And blessed is his kingdom, now and forever.  Amen.

*  Prayer of the Day:

O God, from whom all good proceeds, grant that we, by the leading of the Holy Spirit, may think those things which are right and true, and by your merciful guiding may do them, through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

*  Response:            “We Bring the Sacrifice of Praise”

We bring the sacrifice of praise into the house of the Lord. (2X)

And we offer up to you the sacrifices of thanksgiving;

And we offer up to you the sacrifices of joy!

Confession and Prayer

    Prayer of Confession:                                                                         Psalm 51, adapted

Have mercy upon us, O God, according to your steadfast love; according to your abundant mercy, blot out our transgressions. Wash us thoroughly from our iniquities, and cleanse us from our sins.  For we know our transgressions, and our sin is ever before us.  Against you, you alone have we sinned, and done what is evil in your sight, so that you are justified when you speak, and blameless when you judge. Indeed, we were born guilty, sinners when our mothers conceived us. Hide your face from our sins, and blot out all our iniquities. Create in us a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within us.  Do not cast us away from your presence, and do not take your Holy Spirit from us. This we pray through him who loved us and gave himself for our sins.
